T-15 plasma chamber design and testing

1992
Abstract Plasma chamber design and its conditioning are described, experimental studies of the plasma chamber strain-stress state (SSS) are presented. Common assembly of the installation corresponds to the scheme “vacuum in vacuum”-high-vacuum plasma chamber with a magnet system located inside the cryostat. The plasma chamber is conventional in design for Tokamak-type facilities based on the use of rigid support sections and bellows. Plasma chamber conditioning including the baking regime, glow discharge cleaning allowed to obtain the pressure in the chamber 1.10−7 Torr. In this case maximum stresses did not exceed 55 MPa.
