2008
We desribe a patient with pathological snoring caused by bilateral mandibular torus.A 35-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for treatment of mandibular torus. She had had pathological snoring and daytime sleepiness since she was in junior high school. Pathological snoring persisted even after uvulopalatopharyngoplasty, performed when she was 34 years old. The patient had also received orthodontic treatment to correct tooth alignment and was introduced to our hospital for removal of the bilateral mandibular torus. Immediately after surgery, pathological snoring and daytime sleepiness improved. As of 9 years after the surgery, there has been no recurrence of pathological snoring.
