Advances Etiology of Cleft Lip and/or Palate

The congenital deformities of cleft lip and cleft palate is a frequently multiple genetic disease and the combined effect of heredity and environmental factors. As the development of human genome project, the susceptible genes of cleft lip/palate became the research hot spot. Many researches had been done and got primary result. In this article we review the recently etiology research of cleft lip/palate, including the detection of susceptible gene、epidemiology and animal model.
