Laser Spectral Analysis of Human Atherosclerotic Vessels

1987
Laser angioplasty, i.e., clearing obstructed atherosclerotic blood vessels with laser radiation, is a new medical application of lasers. Studying the spectral properties of vessel walls is essential both to diagnose atherosclerotic lesions and to realize specific action by laser light on atherosclerotic plaques.
