Analysis of mens reproductive and health hotline use

To explore the channels of providing consulting service to mens participation in family planning and reproductive health. The artificial station and the intellectual station of Condom and Reproductive Health Hotline--Strengthen Mens Responsibility in Reproductive Health were set up in March 2000. Since the opening of hotline by publicity and intervention it received 3724 calls in total. The results of the hotline use the callers sexes the consulting contents and other aspects were collected and analyzed. The artificial station received 826 calls while the intellectual station received 2898 calls. Male callers covered 70.1%. The more consulted questions were contraceptive and birth control knowledge diagnosis and treatment of reproductive systems illness sexual hygiene and STD in turn. While condom use sexual hygiene and STD were often consulted on the sexual station. The practice shows that hotline is a highly confidential civilized and convenient kind of service method and it has explored a new way to mens participation in reproductive health. (authors)
