Reactions between components and component compatibility in poly(butylene terephthalate)-polycarbonate blends☆

1991
Compatibility and interaction of poly(butylene terephthalate) and polycarbonate in their blends prepared in melt were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, IR spectroscopy and viscometry. The extent of reactions between the components depends strongly on preparation conditions (the duration of melting, temperature) which influence the chemical and physical processes that proceed in the melt.
