Cloning and preliminary secretion expression of a synthetic gene encoding cecropin A-melittin hybrid in Escherichia coli

The synthetic gene encoding the CA(1-7)M(5-12) hybrid was cloned into the E.coli pIN-Ⅲ·OmpA 2 secretion vector by EcoRⅠ and BamHⅠ linkers. Preliminary research was done on the secretion expression of the gene under the control of Lpp promoter and Lac promoter/operator. The successful gene cloning was detected by Digoxin probe spot hybridization and enzyme digested analysis; the antibacterial activity of the hybrid gene express product was showed by the rate of inhibition to E.coli K 12 D 31 .
