A triphospholyl-substituted phosphine

Tris(2,3,4,5-tetramethylphospholyl)phosphine (1) has been prepared via the reaction of Li(PC4Me4) with PCl3. The structure of 1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction: triclinic, space group P with a = 8.795(2), b = 11.489(2), c = 14.557(3) A, α = 72.89(3), β = 88.92(3), γ = 67.69(3)°, V = 1293.4(7) A3 and Z = 2.
