Investigation of and Analyses on Status Quo of College Students’ Learning by Themselves

After making investigation of the status quo of students' learning by themselves in Guizhou colleges and universities, we have got to know that nearly half (44.7%) students have a clear plan of learning by oneself, one third are puzzled of their learning aim. As to how to learn by oneself, only 37.4% students know, and the others (62.6%) either know it vaguely or are not clear about it. Because of this condition, we should: 1. train students to find the way of learning by themselves; 2. pay more attention to circulate multi-medium in order to help them learn foreign language and make it an activity center for this propose; 3.attach importance to their group activities; 4.cultivate a sense of responsibility.
