Synthesis of acetaldehyde diphenethyl acetal

1. The reaction of acetaldehyde bis-2-chloroethyl acetal with phenylmagnesium bromide was investigated: it proceeds by the replacement of the chlorine atoms and not at the C -O bond. 2. A method for the synthesis of acetaldehyde diphenethyl acetal was found.
