Expression of Tumor Suppressor Gene MTUS1 has Significant Negative Correlation with Lymph Node Metastasis in Colorectal Cancer

2013
Microtubule associated tumor suppressor 1(MTUS1) as a new tumor suppressor gene codes for angiotensin Ⅱ AT2 receptor interacting protein(ATIPs).Although the down-regulation of MTUS1promotes tumor cell proliferation, the affection of the expression of MTUS1 in colorectal cancer metastasis was unknown. We collected the 50 cases of CRC patients who received radical resection confirmed by pathology at three positions(cancer tissues, paracancer tissues and normal distal tissues) for studying the correlation between the expression of MTUS1 and the lymph node metastasis in colorectal cancer. With fluorescence quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR),Western blot and immunocytochemistry staining,we found that the expression level of MTUS1 mRNA and protein in carcinoma tissues and adjacent noncancerous tissues was significantly lower in the cases with the lymph node metastatic CRC patients than those of the patients without lymph node metastasis(P 0.05).Combining with clinical data, our study indicated that the tumor suppressor gene MTUS1 might play an important role in tumor lymph metastasis.
