Study on fire smoke flow characters in large spaces

The smoke filling and the mechanical smoke exhaust experiments with different fire power conditions were conducted in a full-scale large space fire experimental hall.The results show that the smoke temperature is lower,but the settling rate of smoke is very quick.The fire heat release rate and the mechanical exhaust are the important factors affecting the smoke temperature and the stability of the smoke layer.The smoke is diluted during the process of exhaust.The air can not displace the smoke entirely.The optimum exhaust smoke volume is an effective approach to maintain the smoke layer at a steady clear height.It applies the program FDS to the numerical experiments.Then the numerical results are compared with that of the fire experiments,verifying that the program FDS is applicable.
