Iwatsukia bifida (Cephaloziaceae, Marchantiophyta), a Guyana Highland species new to Central America

The range of Iwatsukia bifida (Fulford) R.M. Schust. is extended from the Guyana Highlands to Costa Rica and Central America. A brief description, including the first description of oil bodies, is provided based on Costa Rican material. SEM photographs and a distribution map of the species are presented.
