A quantitative evaluation method for the effect of construction process on shipbuilding quality

2018
Abstract Shipbuilding is a systematic engineering with complex processes. Shipbuilding quality is difficult to analyse due to various processing types, small samples and some non-standard process routes. In this study, a quantitative evaluation method for the effect of construction process on shipbuilding quality is proposed to solve the problem. The shipbuilding processes are decomposed by function. The ship mission reliability is selected as the effect index of the construction process with the introduction of a construction impact factor. A construction process–ship mission reliability correlation model is built to calculate the impact of construction process on shipbuilding quality. The installation of ship propulsion shafting is taken as an example, and the effect of the installation process on the construction quality of the ship is calculated to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the method. The proposed method can provide a reference for the quality control and process optimisation of shipbuilding.
