Producción científica de los obstetras docentes de universidades peruanas, 2010 a 2019

Objective: To describe the characteristics of the scientific production of teaching midwifes from universities in Peru. Material and methods: Descriptive and cross-sectional study, which included 115 teaching obstetricians from public and private Peruvian universities. Its characteristics and that of its scientific publications made between 2010 and 2019, and indexed in Scopus and Scielo, were studied. The systematic search was carried out in the Directory in these databases, in Academic Google and in the user profile of Human Resources related to Science and Technology. Results: 10.4% of teachers made some scientific publication, of them, the majority only published one article (58.4%) and were the author of at least one original article (91.7%). 32 articles were identified, 53.1% of those were published in Peruvian journals, in addition, most were in Spanish (87.5%), were published between 2010 and 2014 (62.5%) and were original and original brief (71.9%). Among these articles, 65.1% were from the area of maternal and perinatal health. The proportion of teachers with a publication was higher in public universities (11.2%) than in private ones (7.7%). Conclusions: A minimal proportion of teaching midwifes from peruvian universities published an article, and the scientific production of these in the last ten years was insufficient.
