In this paper, we report comparative studies on the effects of FGFs and II-1β on proliferation, PGE 2 release and interferon-β1 production by human dermal fibroblasts. These experiments have focused on the interaction of both factor, and demonstrated either a synergistic potentiation of their mitogenic effect or an inhibitory effect of PGE 2 release and IFN-β1 production
