La Acreditación de Programas Academicos: Pilar fundamental para el logro de calidad de formación de Profesionales en Colombia

Self-evaluation, conceived as an ongoing process and participatory, whereby higher education institutions and academic programs, obtain, record and analyze information in pursuit of identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, allowing the formulation improvement plans that decisions routed towards strengthening and institutional development of each of the programs. As a result identifies various instruments such as the Action Plans through which they can perform different activities aimed at strengthening and achieving high standards in terms of academic and administrative processes are concerned, not only achieving recognition by respective authorities of the country but the positioning and recognition of this in the local concert, nationally and internationally. This article is a result of the high quality accreditation systems engineering program at the University of Costa CUC, Barranquilla, Colombia. and proposes different strategies used as part of this process to achieve the establishment of a culture of program quality and the implementation of good practices in line established by the National Council of Colombia Acreditaqcion CNA.
