Non-Skid Coatings for Offshore Structures

The upper decks of offshore platforms require heavy- duty, non-skid coatings. Through proper application, these coatings can achieve long-term performance with no premature cracking or delamination. Current application methods were reviewed, and four different types of coating application systems were evaluated and compared for surface friction coefficient, crack resistance, and work efficiency. A new coating application system was then selected for escape routes and heli-decks of ships and offshore structures.
