Regional characteristics of potassium content in flue-cured tobacco of China.

For deeply understanding regional characteristics of potassium content in flue-cured tobacco and correlations between potassium content and other chemical components,basic statistical characteristics of potassium content in flue-cured tobacco,different potassium content between regions,varieties and stalk positions were studied.The result indicates that 57.08% of the samples are of low potassium content(1.0%～2.0%) and 2.36% of the samples are of extremly low potassium content(1.0%);Potassium content in flue-cured tobacco is of significant difference between regions,varieties and stalk positions,potassium content in south regions is higher than that in north regions,potassium content of underside leaves are higher than that of centre and top leaves.Most of flue-cured tobaccos with lower potassium content were all from the northern,Guizhou and Yunnan Province.
