Cáncer Gástrico temprano en varias Instituciones de Medellín 1994 - 2000

Este estudio analizo la evolucion postoperatoria de 31 pacientes con diagnostico confirmado de cancer gastrico temprano (CGT) en seis diferentes instituciones hospitalarias de Medellin, entre Enero de 1994 y Diciembre de 2000. La edad promedio fue de 57.6 anos, y predominancia del sexo femenino (61.3%) sin ser estadisticamente significativa. El 54.8% de las lesiones fueron adenocarcinomas bien diferenciados, con tipo morfologico superficial (29%). tamano promedio de 1.98 cm. e invasion hasta la submucosa en el 61.3% de los casos. Solo dos pacientes tuvieron compromiso ganglionar asociado. Se realizo mucosectomia (RME) en el 19.4% de los pacientes y a todos los demas, gastrectomia con tecnicas diferentes de reconstruccion principalmente gastrectomia subtotal + BI (29%). De los 31 pacientes, 8 presentaron complicaciones postoperatorias pero no se presento mortalidad secundaria al acto quirurgico como tal. Al momento del corte del estudio, 24 pacientes se encontraban vivos, tres se perdieron del estudio y los cuatro restantes habian fallecido, uno de ellos por causa diferente al cancer gastrico. ABSTRACT This study analyzed the evolution early posoperatoria of 31 patients with confirmed diagnosis of gastric cancer (CGT) in six different hospitable institutions from Medellin, between January of 1994 and December of 2000. The age average was of 57.6 years and predominance of feminine sex (61.3%) but not statistically significant. 54.8% of the well differentiated inju¬ries were adenocarcinomas. with superficial morphologic type (29%), size average of 1,98 em. and invasion until the submucosa in the 61 ,3% of the cases. Single two patients had ganglionary commitment associate. Mucosectomia was made (RME) in the 19,4% of the patients and to all the others. gastrectomfa with techniques different from reconstruction, mainly subtotal gastrectomia + B I (29%). Of the 31 patients9T8 presented/displayed complications posoperatorias but secondary mortality to the surgical act like so did not appear. At the time of the cut of the study, 24 patients were alive, 3 were lost of the study and the 4 rest had passed away; single one of these by cause different from the gastric cancer.
