Machine Learning-Based Cocoa E-Health System

2020
Cocoa diseases and pests such as Mirids, Black pod, and the Cocoa Swollen Shoot Virus Disease (CSSVD) has been a major contributor to the decline in cocoa productivity in Ghana. The study aims at using machine learning and software engineering architecture to develop a Smart Cocoa Health System to detect, diagnose, and predict, the presence of cocoa diseases. The software is in three parts: The data management, analytics application, and the control application (user experience). The analytics application involves the use of machine learning techniques for predictive data analytics to foretell the possible occurrences of the diseases before they actually occur. The users will use the control application to interact with of the software system in accordance with the information displayed by the analytics application.
