Reduzierung der Strahlenbelastung – Verbesserung der Bildqualität: Auswirkungen der neuen Regeln zur Röntgenverordnung

1994
The regulative for the operation of X-ray equipment dated January 1987, which has been in force since 1.1.1988, has confronted the users of medical X-ray apparatus with a considerable amount of alterations and additional expense, due to the introduction of measures designed to ensure a high standard of quality and the documentation of the latter. In addition, radiation checks must be repeated at maximum intervals of five years by official experts. The valid rules and regulations have been amended and updated several times within the past few years. Since 1.1.1994 the protection of existing apparatus, originally intended for the user of so-called „outdated installations” in the form of lower requirements for the technical quality of the image produced, is no longer applicable. These units must therefore be adapted to comply with valid technological standards. This can involve considerable expense. This article provides users with a survey of the updated rules and regulations, the manner and extent of the checks to be carried out and the formal procedure for dealing with the appropriate supervisory board.
