Epidemiology of Gallstone Disease in Hungary
1987
It must be said at the outset that one cannot disagree with Professor Heaton in saying the study of epidemiology of gallstones is both exciting and frustrating. Despite the latter, I have become an enthusiastic researcher of this topic. As you will probably have noticed, there were no data for Hungary accompanying the AMG map. At that time, only experienced clinicians estimates were available, according to which the occurrence of gallstones in Hungary was between 5% and 15%, similar to that in the USA.
