Taking TREM to the brain

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a destructive disease characterized by accumulation of β-amyloid peptides into aggregates called plaques in the brain. Plaque removal by myeloid cells of the immune system, including microglia and macrophages, improves symptoms of AD in mouse models. However,
