Planar Array Pattern Nonlinear Optimization by Taylor Weights PSO Optimizer

When PSO is used to optimize planar array's antenna pattern, its convergence will be improved greatly by some effective estimations of the optimum particle's initial value. A new estimation method is presented in which the optimum particle's initial values are first estimated by Taylor aperture weights, then PSO is used to optimize planar array's pattern. The simulation results show that the Taylor weights method can improve PSO's convergence far more effectively than random weights and analytical weights, because the fitness function converges more deeply and rapidly. So the new optimizer presented here is more valid and practicable especially for planar arrays' pattern nonlinear optimization.
