A Thermodynamic Database for the Al2O3‐CaF2‐CaO System

Al2O3-CaF2-CaO is the core system for modelling ESR slags. All ESR slags contain CaF2 as the primary constituent. Oxides, such as CaO, Al2O3, MgO and other, may be added to the slag to raise the electrical resistivity or to modify the slag chemistry with regard to its reactivity with the metal being melted.
