Linear undulator beamline at a compact storage ring (HiSOR)

Abstract We report the first results from a spherical grating monochromator for the linear undulator beamline ( hν =26–300 eV) at a compact 700 MeV electron-storage ring (HiSOR) at Hiroshima University. The Rydberg series of Ne ( hν ∼48 eV) up to n =20 and the double excitation spectrum of He ( hν ∼65 eV) up to n =20+have been observed. The maximum energy resolving power ( E /Δ E ) at hν ∼65 eV is estimated to be >16,000 with the photon flux >10 10 photons/s.
