Role and mechanism of cervical sympathetic block(SB) in protecting mice from severe burn injury

2007
Objective To study the role and mechanism of cervical sympathetic block(SB) in protecting mice from severe burn injury. Methods The TBSAⅢ burn injury was used as severe trauma model.Two-side cervical sympathetic block was adopted after burn injury of mice. The mortality of mice and expression of glucocorticoid receptor(GR) in liver total protein extract were observed between mice with SB and mice without SB after burn injury. Results The mortality of mice with SB was lower than that of mice without SB after burn injury and the expression of GR in mice with SB were higher than that of mice without SB.Conclusion SB can protect body from severe burn injury. This protect effect is achieved by promoting GR function.
