Real-Time Three-Dimensional Echocardiography in Evaluating Right Ventricular Function in Diabetic Patients with or without Coronary Heart Disease
2011
Objective:To quantitatively evaluate the right ven tricular function coronary heart disease patients with or without type 2 diabetes mellitus using real-time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE).Methods:Sixty-three patients were enrolled. They were classified into three groups:coronary heart disease group(CHD group,n = 16),type 2 diabetes mellitus group(DM group,n = 20),and coronary heart disease with type 2 diabetes mellitus group(CHD + DM group,n = 27).The control group(NC group) included 24 healthy volunteers. All the patients underwent tranditional echocardiography and realtime three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE) examination. The overall right ventricular end-diastolic volume(RVEDV), end-systolic volume(RVESV) and ejection fraction(RVEF) were calculated by right ventricular function(4D-RVF) analysis software. Results:Compared with control group,RVEDV,RVESV in CHD group,DM group and CHD + DM group increased significantly(P0.05) even though RVEF had no statistical differences among 4 groups(P = 0.31).Conclusions: The capacity of right ventricle of patients in CHD group,DM group and CHD + DM group enlarged obviously detected by RT-3DE while LVEF were all at normal range.
