Distributed acoustic sensing based on correlation analysis of fast and linear sweep OFDR

We present a method to produce continuous, fast and truly-linear frequency-sweep optical signal driven by arbitrary waveform generator. By using this signal as the optical source, a high-repetition-rate optical frequency domain reflectometry is experimentally demonstrated with linear response to outside perturbation. This work has significant value for achieving high performance distributed acoustic sensing.
