The hot embossing of polymers and polymers filled with micro-particles can be used to realize functional micro-components. The idea is to heat a thermoplastic plate to reach a temperature close to the glass transition temperature of the polymer to get micro-structured replicas. This study analyzes the possibilities of replication by using hot embossing which is applied to polymers loaded with carbon nanotubes. In this contribution, an analysis of rheological and mechanical properties of composites (CNT/PMMA) was performed and discussed. Composites based on polymer with amorphous structure were prepared at different loading rates. Finally, a qualitative and quantitative analysis by scanning mechanical microscopy was performed on micro-structured components and compared to the mold cavity profiles.
