The invention relates to a human body mixed monitoring system and method fusing pyroelectric sensing with cameras. The system comprises a plurality of mixed monitoring units, wherein each mixed monitoring unit comprises a plurality of pyroelectric sensing nodes and one camera. The mixed monitoring method can be a monitoring method based on a distributed pyroelectric sensing network for positioning a human body and tracking the human body based on position information or a monitoring method for tracking and identifying a target human body based on videos of the cameras. When the two monitoring methods are used for tracking and identifying an identical target or a plurality of targets, each target is tracked and identified through adoption of a non-data-fusion method and a data fusion method. The advantages of two monitoring networks are combined, and the defects of the two monitoring networks in monitoring are overcome, so that real-time optimized tracking and identification of the human body are realized.
