Axitinib-induced scrotal ulcers: a novel cutaneous adverse event.

2020
Axitinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor affecting tumour cell angiogenesis and proliferation. It is approved for the treatment of solid tumours, including renal cell carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma1 . In January 2020 a 48-year-old white male with metastatic renal cell carcinoma was admitted to the dermatological unit due to the painless scrotal ulcers. The patient reported that the first lesion appeared at the end of November 2019 on the left side of the scrotum. Since then, multiple ulcerations started to emerge week after week. On admission, physical examination revealed six superficial, soft, unpainful scrotal ulcers with erythematous borders.
