Two new 3D heterometallic chalcogenides based on copper-rich selenogermanate clusters ☆

2017
Abstract Two new three-dimensional (3D) copper-rich selenogermanates with organic amine cations as structural directing agents, namely (enH 2 ) 5 [Cu 16 Ge 6 Se 19 (Se 2 ) 6 ]·en ( 1 ) (en = ethylenediamine) and [(CH 3 ) 2 NH 2 ] 6 [Cu 8 Ge 6 Se 19 ]·0.25H 2 O ( 2 ), have been solvothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 is constructed by interconnections of icosahedral [Cu 8 Se 13 ] and octahedral [Cu 4 Se 6 ] clusters through bridging [GeSe 3 (Se 2 )] units to form a 3D anionic framework with ethylenediamine cation/molecules located in the intersecting channels. Compound 2 features a 3D anionic framework constructed from [Cu 8 Se 13 ] clusters linked by dimeric [Ge 2 Se 6 ] units.
