310 Effects of Body Position on Gastroesophageal Reflux in Preterm Infants: Study Using Combined pH-Impedance Monitoring

2005
Introduction: Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) is frequent in preterm infants and conservative postural treatment is recommended. Few studies are available on the effects of body positioning on GER in preterms. Only one study use the impedance thecnique combined to manometric, but not pH-metric relevament. This is the first study that uses the combined pH-impedance thecnique to evaluate the effects of body position on GER in premature babies.
