Effect of integrated nutrient management on seed germination and fruit quality of rough lemon

2016
The experiment was carried on twelve-year-old healthy plants of uniform growth which were selected from the rough lemon plantation at Akola during 2014–15 with the objectives to study the effect of different combinations of organic, inorganic and biofertilizers on seed germination and fruit quality of rough lemon. The results indicated that fruit volume (150.95 cc), fruit diameter (8.00 cm), seed germination (68.21%) and seed vigour (1273.35) was found better in the plants treated with T8 [75% RDF (450 g N + 225 g P2O5 + 225 g K2O plant−1) + 500 g AM (Actinomycetes) plant−1 + 100 g Azotobacter plant−1 + 100 g PSB (phosphate solubilising bacteria) plant−1 + 15 kg vermicompost plant−1], whereas TSS and acidity of fruits showed non significant results with respect to different combinations. Hence on the basis of findings reported in present investigation, it could be concluded that significant variations was observed for seed germination and fruit quality of rough lemon under study.
