Approximation of a CACC systems's transfer function

This work presents an alternative approximation for a Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control system's transfer function and its use in the analysis of a braking worst case scenario. The approximation structure is dened based on the system's characteristics. An iterative method to compare the time response of the system with the time response of the approximation is presented. The proposed approximation method is applied to two controller congurations. These approximations, together with a conservative approximation, are used to analyze the worst case scenario. The alternative approximation improves the results of the analysis.
