A Simple Method for the Automatic Measurement of Cortical Thickness

2006
Measurements of cortical thickness are increasingly employed to study growth, aging, and disease progression in the human brain [1-3]. Most of the methods for this purpose are based on measurement of cortical surfaces rendered from segmented gray matter, which is calculation-intensive. A simple and reliable method for measuring cortical thickness is developed that produces a cortical thickness map directly from 2D or 3D segmented brain images.
