Expression and significance of proteinase-activated receptor-2 in cervical carcinoma

2009
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of proteinase-activated receptor-2(PAR-2)in cervical squamous carcinoma and carcinoma in situ tissues. Methods Immunohistochemistry method was used to examine the expression of PAR-2 in 70 specimens of cervical squamous cell carcinoma,20 SqCa in situ and 20 normal cervical specimens. Results The expression of PAR-2 in cervical carcinoma tissues was 45.71%,which was negative in the normal cervical tissues. The positive expression rate of PAR-2 in cervical carcinoma tissues had a tendence of increase with clinical staging and histological grading. The positive rate of PAR-2 expression in cervical carcinomas with lymphatic metastasis was significantly higher than that without lymphatic metastasis(72.41% vs.26.83%)(P0.01).Conclusion PAR-2 is closely associated with the invasion and metastasis of cervical carcinoma.
