It is proposed comprising the steps of a method for load equality of cylinders (3) of an internal combustion engine (1) in the dual fuel mode: determining a first, klopffreudigsten cylinder; Determining a common spatesten injection start for all the cylinders (3) of an internal combustion engine (1) in the dual fuel mode, the injection start indicates the start of an injection of a first fuel in a cylinder (3) so that in none of the cylinder (3) a knock occurs when the cylinder (3) are operated with the common spatesten beginning of injection, and obtaining a cylinder-specific, earlier injection start for at least one second cylinder, which is different from the first, klopffreudigsten cylinder, starting from the common spatesten beginning of injection, so that in the second cylinder knocking does not occur when the second cylinder is operated with the earlier start of injection.
