Variations in Curve Number for a Reclaimed AML Site
1992
Runoff and erosion from an abandoned mine land site near Sheridan, Wyoming were monitored for four years following reclamation. Small plots, which included lengths from 12 to 24 meters and slopes from 12 to 33 percent were also monitored. Runoff and erosion from the watershed can be predicted using computer simulations such as AGNPS or SEDIMOT II but a range of curve numbers should be employed. Average curve numbers for a plot ranged from 81-91 and 78-91 for a single storm.
