Development of Web-based DAQ system for the DCBA experiment

2005
The scale of high energy physics experiments becomes large. Such a large system makes the data acquisition, DAQ, system bigger and more complex, and the management of the system also becomes more difficult. Therefore, most of the experimenters spend the time to develop the DAQ system for own experiment. However, as the functions required by a DAQ system are almost the same, each system should be developed easily by using a general-purpose system. We have developed a Web-based DAQ system for the DCBA (drift chamber beta-ray analyzer) experiment. The system was developed as a general-purpose DAQ system by using the object-oriented technology. Moreover, the Web technologies are also introduced for the system in order to provide the easy control and management of the entire system. The performance evaluation has been performed for the developed systems. The result shows the overhead of the object-oriented is small enough and the system with object-oriented and Web technologies are useful for not only the DCBA experiment but also other experiments
