Research on key problems of power swing unit in microcomputer distance protection

Introduces measures of detecting all kinds of faults during power swing in microcomputer distance protection of late years. Since all the measures described have their own advantages and disadvantages, the paper adopts Matlab as the simulation tool to simulate a simple double end power source transmission line so as to compare their capabilities. The simulation results of different forms of power swing and faults during power swing are given out. Thereby the capabilities of every method, that is each criterion's action time and accuracy, are compared in a list and some significant conclusions are reached. (7 pages)
