Structure of intermetallic phases in Al-free galvannealed zinc coatings

Galvannealed coatings of thickness of (20–40) µm were prepared on the ultra low carbon (ULC) steel substrate. Metalography analysis was carried out to obtain the phase composition of coatings. Coatings were then transfered onto a polyacrylate foil. Transmission spectra yielding all the positions of iron within the coating thickness were measured.
