Study on the Impact of the Depth of 3D Subtitles on Visual Comfort

2016
The study investigated how the depth of 3D subtitles impacted the viewers' 3D experience. The disparities of the subtitles were chosen from 7.56', 15.12', 22.32', -7.56', -15.12' and -22.32'. The results showed that subjects felt more fatigue when seeing subtitles with uncrossed disparities than that with crossed disparities. Regardless of using crossed disparities or uncrossed disparities, the subtitles with the disparity of 22' was the most comfortable and the viewing experience was the best.
