The article presents the doctrinal requirements of monotheistic religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) related to the creation and solving of marriage. It is unsolvable only in Catholicism, and it is monogamous only in Christianity. It is still often orchestrated in Islam and in Judaism, and religions is based on the free choice of spouses in the Christian. The results of various studies that describe the actual implementation by the followers of the various religions doctrinal assumptions were also discussed. They found that the higher the level of religiosity is presented respondents, the more they observe the requirements set by their own religions. They more often formed high quality marriage, care greater about their durability, resulting in less frequent divorces. The lower level of religiosity was characterized of respondents of all religions, the more often they departed from the norms and principles related to the functioning marriages.
