Methodology for signals compatibility assessment in aeronautic environment

2016
This paper describes a research work aiming to support and facilitate the design of aircraft electric routes constitution and installation thanks to a general methodology for the assessment of crosstalk between signals. The methodology relies on the definition of signals emission and immunity profiles based on the use of standards and specification documents describing the electromagnetic compatibility environment any aircraft equipment must comply with. This work shows that some modifications of test protocols specified in ED-14/DO-160 sections 19 & 20 would be necessary to ensure that the qualification results bring the relevant level of information for assessing the compatibility between signals.
