Apparel online shop reflecting customer perception

Internet trade volumes are rapidly increasing. In this situation, it is becoming increasingly important for online shops owners to have a competitive advantage in their e-commerce shopping services. In this paper, we discuss how such tools as color theory and fuzzy set theory can be applied to e-commerce-oriented image retrieval, more specifically, to online apparel coordination based on customer preference. We also provide the detailed description of the system functionality. Developed web application allows to overcome the limitations of the traditional e-commerce search and gain an edge over the rivals. The prototype system offers the simple, human-consistent and user-friendly interaction. It can have a good practical value for any online clothing or accessories store.
