Lycojaponicuminol A–F: Cytotoxic serratene triterpenoids from Lycopodium japonicum

Abstract Six new serratene triterpenoids ( 1 – 6 ), together with nine known triterpenoid compounds were isolated from the extract of club moss Lycopodium japonicum . The structures of isolated compounds were established by spectroscopic methods. The cytotoxic activities of all compounds were evaluated against three human cancer cell lines in vitro by MTT assay. Compounds 2 , 6 – 8 and 11 exhibited moderate activities against all three cell lines with IC 50 values of 2.28–11.81 μg/mL.
