Effect of Season and Hormone Dosage on Superovulation of Luxi Yellow Cattle

2006
One hundred ninety healthy quarantined Luxi Yellow cattle of 3~5 year-old were selected and fed in same location.Three different dosages, namely 0.010~0.012mg/kg,0.013~0.014 mg/kg and 0.015~0.016 mg/kg according to body weight of cows in Spring,Autumn and Winter were allotted randomly to superovulate. The results indicated that there was no significant(P0.05) effect of different seasons on superovulation of Luxi Yellow cattle, but the rate of available embryos in Winter was higher than that in Spring and Autumn(P0.01).There was also no significant effect of different dosages on superovulation of Luxi Yellow cattle(P0.05).However,the available number of superovulating cows with 0.013~0.014 mg/kg and 0.015~0.016 mg/kg were higher than that of 0.010~0.012 mg/kg(P0.01);and the rate of available embryos of 0.013~0.014 mg/kg was higher than that of 0.015~0.016 mg/kg(P0.05) and 0.010~0.012 mg/kg(P0.01).
